![]() If anything is loose, tighten it up and your problem is probably solved. First, check all the screws, nuts and bolts holding your optic in place. So, let's go through a few of the most likely. You should also check that the arrow-retention spring is in good working order, as this piece is often connected to the ADF.Ĭrossbow fails to group well: There are several possibilities here. I've seen it happen on a crossbow where the ADF malfunctioned. The results can be as bad or worse than a dry fire. It's a good thing, because were that not the case, the bow could fire with a bolt in place but not in contact with the string. What's happening is that the bolt is not seated far enough back to make contact with the string and, more importantly, disengage the anti-dry-fire mechanism (ADF). I've encountered this issue several times with my fishing crossbow, probably because it spends so much time pointed downward.Īll things considered, this is a good problem. However, a far more likely cause is that the bolt is not pushed all the way back, or has slid forward. When cocked and loaded, crossbow fails to fire: It's possible that as in the previous example, the bow was not fully cocked. However, something is not working properly, and I would advise taking the bow to your local pro shop or contacting the manufacturer or place of purchase about possible repair or replacement. One solution is to simply click the safety on after cocking and continue as usual. Safety did not engage while cocking, but crossbow will fire: It shouldn't happen, but I've encountered this on bows from several different manufacturers. You should be able to simply re-attach your cocking mechanism and pull back farther, until you hear a distinct "click" and see that the safety has engaged. In other words, the string wasn't pulled all the way back, far enough to cock the bow and engage the safety mechanism. Safety did not engage while cocking, and crossbow will not fire: In all likelihood, the bow was short-cocked. In that case, make sure you are pulling the string all the way back. That used to be necessary on some crossbows, but for the most part, it no longer matters whether the safety is on safe or fire when cocking. Common ProblemsĬrossbow will not cock: This is less common than it used to be but could well be the result of not having the safety mechanism in the "fire" position while cocking. Below, I've listed five of the more common issues crossbow shooters might encounter, along with their causes and solutions. Regardless, sometimes our crossbows don't perform as well as we'd like. Sometimes, it's a matter of materials or manufacturing.

Three-toed sloths also have an advantage that few other mammals possess: They have extra neck vertebrae that allows them to turn their heads some 270 degrees. At Lifehacker, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. The three-toed sloth emits a long, high-pitched call that echoes through the forests as “ahh-eeee.” Because of this cry these sloths are sometimes called ais (pronounced “eyes”). They sometimes fall directly from rain forest trees into rivers and stroke efficiently with their long arms. Though they couldn't be clumsier on land, sloths are surprisingly good swimmers. If caught on land, these animals have no chance to evade predators, such as big cats, and must try to defend themselves by clawing and biting. They must dig into the earth with their front claws and use their strong front legs to pull themselves along, dragging their bellies across the ground. On land, sloths' weak hind legs provide no power and their long claws are a hindrance. Three-toed sloth babies are often seen clinging to their mothers-they travel by hanging on to them for the first nine months of their lives. ![]() Sloths mate and give birth while hanging in the trees. Sloths even sleep in trees, and they sleep a lot-some 15 to 20 hours every day. They spend nearly all of their time aloft, hanging from branches with a powerful grip aided by their long claws. Life in the TreesĪll sloths are built for life in the treetops. There are both two-toed and three-toed sloths. Sloths are identified by the number of long, prominent claws that they have on each front foot. That said, the beauty of going deep into Polymorph is you'll have plenty of attribute points to spend. ![]() Alternatively, they could loosen the dagger restriction on more (all) Scoundrel skills to give spear wielders some love. ![]() I have a few ideas for adjustments, but maybe an interesting talent (and a couple spear-inspired skills) could be the simplest option without completely reworking the battle system. Polymorph is cool though! I'm glad they added it to the game at least, even if spears were not polished as one might expect. Maybe in a future patch or add-on they might make this better. Also cannot recall seeing any spear weapons that I thought were particularly amazing. I have yet to hear of anyone outside of a mod situation opt for a serious spear wielder. Overall, in tandem with heavier armor, STR tends to win out here. Could definitely see some more chances for cross-skill tree support here to help better define the identity of a spear wielding polymorpher, as well as allow for a more interesting set of build combinations. Seems like an opportunity miss here, as we all know from other games the Spear Thrower + Shield (Commander/Paragon) archetype that might utilize Huntsman and Deadly Savage (Druid/Feralan) archetype that might utilize Scoundrel. Spears have very little synergy with damage skills from the primary FIN-trees, Scoundrel and Hunstman. Works for either STR or FIN (and INT for stave weapons). Most Warfare skills scale with whatever your melee weapon's primary stat is. If you had to choose based on this factor alone, go with STR-gear. I believe only a few Polymorph skills scale with FIN otherwise, it's STR. If you really love spears then great otherwise, you'll find a lot more STR-based weapon options: 1H + Shield, Dual Wield 1H, and lots of 2H weapons. This is because spear weapons are FIN-based. I guess the spear allows for more crit power? Everything seems to scale to strength. I still don't understand why they're a finness class though, according to metamorph. As long as you're keeping up with all of that, it's a pretty cool way to abuse Lone Wolf with more than two characters. As far as combat experience goes, everyone will get the experience from kills as long as everyone is part of the combat. If you're not in the same party, then only one party will get the experience for completing a quest. You also have to be careful with experience. Then there's also more friendly fire with certain things since you're not all in the same party anymore. It's only an issue because you can't really make use of the doubled memory unless you split the party and set up your extra skills before starting the combat, but obviously you can't do that all the time. You'll have a base of 10 memory double to 20 because of Lone Wolf, but then it goes back to 10 after you rejoin the parties together. Memory becomes a bit problematic, since you'd be going back and forth activating and deactivating Lone Wolf. We would stay in the same party for the majority of the game and would only split the party whenever we entered combat, so we would only really have Lone Wolf active when it mattered the most. The way I used to do this when playing with my old friend was like this. It's only doable when you're playing with other people, though, since you can't have multiple active parties in solo play. You'll have two parties in the game at that point, each with two characters who all have Lone Wolf active. If you're playing with four characters, you can just remove two of them from your party. You just need to have a maximum of two characters in your party in order for Lone Wolf to activate. Regular character tend to struggle when going for a hybrid build because they spread themselves too thin. This is because of the extra vitality and ability points lone wolves get. There is a way to use Lone Wolf with more than two characters, if that's what you want to know. Incompatible with Glass Cannon Tips and Tricks Pick lone wolf on characters that need to tank up or will be hybrid classes (or both). ![]() Who Should Use the Reverse CurlĪlthough most lifters can benefit by creating their own set of Popeye forearms, if you’re pulling a dozen plates on a deadlift or doing other heavy training, your forearms are getting significant work and may not need as much extra training. By using a reverse grip, the biceps are less taxed and more focus is on the brachioradialis. Unlike traditional curls, in which your biceps shoulder the brunt of the work, reverse curls attack your brachioradialis, the muscle on the front of your forearm. ![]() That means I need to keep a tighter grip the entire time when I'm curling, so my grip strength is going to get a very good time under tension and constant tension test.” The Reverse Curl Attacks Your Brachioradialis Muscles “But once I have that bar flipped over and I'm doing the reverse curl, whether it's a barbell or dumbbell or anything, if I loosen my grip, the bar is simply going to fall to the ground.
